Possibly Winter NWEA Results
Tobie: PD on Jan 8th. revisited goals and intention setting; nautilus review; affinity group breakouts; intention to return; new policies. Tobie is sharing observation "look fors" for staff: checklists for teachers to assess if they are where they should be at this point in the year.Look fors are from PMA; we haven't used them in the past.
Daniel: Attendance. chronic absences at 24.2%. trends over last three years are showing improvement.
Reviewed Panorama Fall survey
Fall NWEA - trends similar to SBAC.
Growth targets:: higher percentage meeting goals than last year.
Sorted by ethnicity: still shows an achievement gap for Black and Latinx students
Q: how do teachers interact with NWEA data? There is a gap between what the students demonstrate in the classroom v. how they perform on tests. Hesitant to devote time to teach to test because it takes time away from Montessori instruction. This is why we have been working on creating so many other data points. Looking at how to support students from 3rd grade + moving away from concrete materials to abstract processing.
State Dashboard is live.
Q: Does MAP have other benchmark data for public Montessori? Unsure, will look into it.
