EOY Updates and Overview

NWA

  • Spring-to-Spring tracking and Fall-to-Spring tracking gives us a full picture of student experience
    • Spring-to-Spring: year-round students that are in every cycle
    • Fall-to-Spring: New students that start later
  • Strong performance in high school in target areas
  • Middle school (specifically 5th and sixth) are biggest areas for improvement
  • Key:
    • Want to see the diamond in the box on the chart
    • We want to be over the circled numbers
      • Indicator mark over 50: nationally strong
      • Indicator mark over 70: North Star strong
  • All high school testing markers are above 50
  • Numbers for both middle school and high school are higher in Spring-to-Spring growth than Fall-to-Spring
  • Data shows that keeping kids and families is better for the students
    • Have to invest in our teams to make this happen
    • Invest in families and students so they understand the impact of year-round consistent education at Kairos
  • Looking forward to future it also shows growth for students looking to college, not just a better test score it's a better future

Summer Training and PD

  • Operations team owns the building in July
    • Friday 6/28/24 through 8/5/24 no one is in the building
    • Paint, refresh, update
  • Schools team starts with gradient training (new curriculum training) in mid-July
  • All leaders will come together to hone in on what the expectations are for the next year
  • Team leader stepbacks
  • Teachers will return 7/31/24 and do staff training with campus teams
  • PD training will ensure that everyone has a strong start with individual teams and as a group for the upcoming year and Cycles

Playbooks for Success (BOY Ready)

  • Have a full year planning document so everything has one place to go for each team
    • Goal is that a new person can enter and know exactly how to do their hob and what the team is focused on prioritizing throughout the year
  • Playbooks existed last year but there was not a clear understanding of what they were or how to use them
  • Playbooks this year are more clear
    • Can be used at any point during the year, not just in preparation time
    • Playbooks have several sections that will be used to keep alignment with every month
      • Goals and Metrics Tracking
      • Big Rocks
        • Priorities for the upcoming year
        • How priorities match the strategic plan
        • Key strategies to make the priorities happen
      • Roles and Duties
      • Key Decision-Making Rights
    • Playbooks are so clarity and organization is standardized and achieved across all levels of leadership in all teams
    • KG ACTION STEP: Share with the board at Board Meeting (6/26/24) senior leadership BOY Ready Playbook
      • Insert LinkedIn profiles as well so people can put names to faces
