IV. Mini Lesson: Next Prep at Kairos HS

A.

Next Prep Overview

The mission of NextPrep is to empower St. Louis City high school students to pursue the postsecondary pathway that will allow them to meet their education, income, and life goals.

Six years after finishing high school, the majority of St. Louis City graduates have no postsecondary degree, significant debt², and inadequate professional skills training.³

Next Prep is a pilot at Kairos Academies. There are four parts to the program:

1. Self-Discovery

2. Career Exploration

3. Professional Skills Training

4. Work-Based Learning

To combat this, NextPrep supports Kairos Academies students.

SY22-23: 75 9th-grade students at Kairos Academies High School participated in the program(St. Louis)

SY23-24: 230 9th and 10th-grade students at Kairos Academies High School and 35 12th-grade students at Believe Circle City High School will participate in the program(Indianapolis).
