Chanel Recasner called a meeting of the Academic & School Performance Committee Committee of The Main Street Academy to order on Tuesday Apr 16, 2024 at 6:30 PM.

Approve Agenda
Lisa Bentley-Whieldon made a motion to Approve the Agenda.
Nkiruka Onyia seconded the motion.
Approval with the addition of the principal's report document following the end of the meeting.

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes (3/19/2024)
Lisa Bentley-Whieldon made a motion to approve the minutes from Monthly Academic & School Performance Committee Meeting on 03-19-24.
Nkiruka Onyia seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

Due to the meeting functioning as a working session today, there was no principal report shared.

Chanel Recasner made a motion to Adjorn the meeting.
Lisa Bentley-Whieldon seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 PM.

Discussion centered on not only tracking academic progress but also looking at other aspects of school performance/perception/school climate.

In addition to what the school collects we would like information on the following:
Demographics (collected monthly or at a frequency finalized with leadership ):
* Students (enrollment, attendance, behavior (Referral, Suspensions (and types), expulsion), Teacher retention rate (also want to know average tenure overall)
School Perception/School Climate (Quarterly/Semester):

Families
Staff
Will use different surveys to report on climate information.
Important to revise the strategic plan and bylaws to align with the charter documentation.
Documentation would begin monthly starting next year.
Baseline for the school year taken at the close of the 2024 school year.
Quarterly reporting of the reporting variables in a sharable format; add it to the Governing Board formal calendar.
School climate reported annually.
