Call the Meeting to Order

Kenya Morris called a meeting of the Academic & School Performance Committee Committee of The Main Street Academy to order on Monday Aug 14, 2023 at 7:08 PM.

Approve Agenda

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes (7/10/23)

Kenya Morris made a motion to approve the minutes from Monthly Academic & School Performance Committee Meeting on 07-10-23.
Lisa Bentley-Whieldon seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Academic & School Performance Committee - Unfinished Business

A.

ASP Committee Goals for 2023-2024

Committee members discussed strategic plan goal 1. Committee members requested to learn more about the process needed to support student academic achievement, what is needed to support the goals of the principal. Additional discussion is needed. Dr. Owes made a recommendation to table the discussion for the September 2023 ASP committee meeting. 

B.

Teacher Representatives for the ASP committee

Principal Revere discussed process for selected for teacher representatives for the ASP committee. Faculty/staff members are able to volunteer for leadership roles. There will be 2 individuals selected, 1 elementary representative, 1 middle school representative. Individuals have not been selected, but 2 name will be presented by the end of the week (week of 8/14.)

III. Academic & School Performance Committee - Other Business

A.

Principal's Report

Principal's report included a summary of the first 3 weeks of school including upcoming diagnostic testing and professional development learning day for teachers.

B.

GMAS longitudinal results

GMAS longitudinal results were included in the principal's report and were covered by Principal Revere. Committee requested comparison data to other south fulton county schools, FCS district, and state.

 

 

IV. Academic & School Performance Committee - Future Business

A.

ASP Committee Goals for 2023-2024

Further discussion is needed. Dr. Owes made recommendation made to table discussion until next meeting.
