Call the Meeting to Order
A. Kittelberger called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Vida Charter School to order on Monday Dec 7, 2015 at 3:30 PM.

Report cards and quarterly reporting - HOLD for January

Reporting: dat a alignment with Common Core + PA Core. Update

SPED review and revision recommendations
Discussed upcoming 2016-17 cyclical monitoring. Vida will be able to request a month between Nov 2016-Apr 2017 to participate in monitoring. 10 students will be selected from past 3 years. Evaluators will include a parent advocate and two educators. Educators can be retired or present educators. Will occus for 2-3 days.
Policies will need to be updated for 2016. Parent training, public school enrollment, Surrogate parents, and Confidentiality policies will be created. General policy will be evaluated as to whether necessary. C. Maldonado will seek advice from school solicitor. C. Maldonado will identify a resource for policy revisions.
Parent trainings for IEPs must occur more than once a schoolyear. Suggestion from L.Kissick to do an online training/webinar that the parent would sign in to record attendance. A.Kittelberger discussed possibility of individual family trainings.

Report Card - quarterly update - school's academic excellence committee will meet on Dec 14th and provide committee with next steps and timeline of transition of lower grades to MMS.

Adjourn Meeting
A. Kittelberger made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
M. Rosenberger seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 5:15 PM.

Gettyburg College students presented powerpoint discussing relationship between NWEA and PSSA. Student will return in January with report and plan to present to teachers, boards of directors, and parents/PTO.
