After a brief discussion, action was taken to approve the minutes for June 16, 2026, for the Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of Learn4Life High School-Charleston.

School Leader
Dr. Brown shared her report, including the PADEPP standards, new partnerships & programs and grant updates (slide 3). She also shared on Section 504 & Special Education with the school achieving a "Tier 1" rating (highest) for both, a significant improvement from the previous year's "Tier 3" for IDEA compliance. She also mentioned a three-day "Teacher Boot Camp" began on July 21. A transformation coach is working with staff to improve performance.
Dr. Brown shared on the AFO Index with English II achievement increased by 7%, the finance risk rating improved from "medium" to "low," and IDEA compliance improved. The percentage of certified teachers decreased slightly, and instructional spending (25.7%) is below the 35% target, attributed to past staffing shortages. (slides 7 &8)
Dr. Brown shared on current enrollment of 149 students and 67 new student applicants still pending and 16 applications were rejected, mainly due to past expulsions for weapons. She also went over enrollment trends (slide 11).
Lastly, Dr. Brown gave a staffing update with three open positions: Student Retention Liaison, CTE Business Teacher, and an ESOL Teacher.

Management Organization
Ms. Ruiz shared the Service Provider Report. She also shared the timeline for elections as well as the board members up for re-election. She mentioned the Governance team would be sending out an email with the election timeline.

Legislative Update
Ms. Peterson shared that the state is operating under a continuing resolution as the budget has not been finalized. Also, charter schools are not expected to be negatively impacted and may see slightly more funding.

Mr. Reyes shared on the financial information as of June 30, 2026, including the balance sheet, budget to actuals, and statements of revenue and expenditures. He also confirmed the school's new investment pool account is open and being funded.
