Planning of Community Resource Events Hosted by PSD - "Community Connections"
The task force discussed exploring a potential collaboration between PSD and the WSU ROAR Program for the upcoming Community Connections event. While PSD has historically hosted a Parent Resource Partnership Night, attendance has been low; integrating the event with Community Connections and potentially partnering with ROAR may help increase participation. Based on scheduling input from interested organizations, the event was set for October 2, 6:00–7:30 p.m. After reviewing the advantages of different school facilities, the task force identified Jefferson Elementary as the preferred location. The group also discussed ensuring broad outreach, including invitations to PTA/PTO/Booster groups and student clubs/activities. A “Save the Date” announcement will be included in the Community Update.

Discussion: Ways to Support Students/Families Experiencing HIB/Discrimination in Our Schools
A task force member reached out to representatives from Palouse EDJE to explore their interest in attending an upcoming DEIB Task Force meeting to engage in conversations on supporting students and families experiencing harassment, intimidation, bullying (HIB), or discrimination in our schools. Palouse EDJE indicated they would be interested in participating. The task force discussed inviting them to the October meeting and emphasized the importance of getting a meeting on the calendar as soon as possible to ensure coordination.
