Committee Subgroup updates

Subcommittee AI (Lindsey):

-Working on AI policy that was presented to the full board

-Received mandated guidance- it is required to have an AI policy

-Revising AI policy as a committee- simplifying language and bringing it back for review to the AC committee

-Charlotte sends out resources for ERA teachers

-Tiffany Jones (teacher) has started her Marc Cubin AI fellowship

-Are kids getting digital citizenship teaching? Yes in middle school, not so much in the high school- hoping the holistic AI guidance will provide more protections

Subcommittee Staffing (Annie):

-trying to meet with faculty- possible faculty meeting

-all positions filled but 1 K-2 EC teacher

-Lindsey to share data from teachers

Subcommittee Academics (Pamela):

-data review- Dave tackling this to help guide

-extracurricular activities

-teacher professional development

-evaluation

Subcommittee Climate (Megan):

-What is it for our school, and how do we tackle it?

-Climate for students- do they feel safe?

-Climate for staff- do they feel ERA is a safe space?

-Do parents feel this is a safe space?

-Do our core values show up day-to-day?

-PTO

Subcommittee STREAM (Dave)-

-Possible retreat to take a deep dive into the planning- understand the purpose to be able to define an implementation rubric, which is a critical piece because implementation, tracking, and timeline will come out of it

-can use other rubrics as a guide, but we need to customize it for ERA

Step 1: Vision, student outcomes

Step 2: Implementation rubric to track work

-What are the strategies, timeline, and funding needs

- Goal: halfway through the year to have an implementation rubric created for review

-Review roadmap

-Can we test out the vision before we officially implement it? How did other schools do it? What have others done?

-Conversations with others who are more experienced

-What does the annual report to the board look like? Pilot or find examples happening already at the school

B.

Meeting with Mike from BoT summary

-Helpful to speak with Mike about school goals and AC goals to bring to the board this month- what is the difference between a goal and a priority

C.

Quick Academic Committee Dashboard Review

-Documentation for whatever works best for the group

-The entire AC committee group should know these pieces/data

- Info in one place

-Each subgroup can add information to this to keep the full committee updated

-Can update it if needed

-place for subcommittee meetings

-review before large committee meeting

Academic Committee Dashboard

D.

Academic Data review

- a bit early

-Dave working on it

Academic Data Review:

EOG/EOC scores

TWCS

AP reports

-compare to other schools

-Growth for different achievement levels

-Data comes out in September

-Consider AP pathway

- Calculus: AP scores; no one received a 3 or higher- concerning. Teacher receiving AP training

Calculus weighted high for 5s- need to identify other schools to see how they are doing?

-Do state standards align with what the AP exam asks
