Parent Communication & Progress Reporting

  • Skyward is primary parent source; parents report grades not updated consistently.
  • MAP profile reports are confusing to parents; require clearer interpretation.
  • Create four-question parent pulse survey about grade visibility and access.
    • Do you know your student's current grade in each class?
    • Do you trust the accuracy of your student's current grades?
    • Where do you access your student's progress? Skyward, ParentSquare, Google Classroom, iPad
    • Do you understand your student's SBAC math graduation status?
  • Report cards scheduled to go out next week.
  • Google Classroom allows adding only teachers and students; parents view via student iPads.

 

III. Mid-Year MAP Assessment Results

Assessment and Student Data Review:

Assessments Schedule & Graduation Requirements

  • MAP testing scheduled March 9–13.
  • ACT offered to 11th graders; dates mentioned April 28–May 2 and June 13.
  • Graduation requires SBAC ELA/math pass or alternatives: ACT benchmark, dual credit, ASVAB.
  • Communicate testing schedule to students and families; send reminders two weeks before testing.

Accelerating Math Growth:

Math Growth Plan & Instructional Support

  • Math curriculum fidelity concerns raised; Heritage implementation shows better outcomes.
  • Evergreen pacing differs from publisher scope; meeting planned to adjust pacing.
  • SDL math enrichment scheduled Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; adds approximately 120 minutes weekly.
  • Coaching cycle active for Hillary; Logan providing intervention strategies and support.

  • Job description and hiring timeline drafted for board packet.
  • Introduce hiring process at board retreat January 31.
