Call the Meeting to Order
J. Hwang called a meeting of the board of directors of The Exploris School to order on Tuesday Sep 28, 2021 at 4:41 PM.

Approve August Minutes
S. Darroch made a motion to approve the minutes from The Exploris School Board Meeting for Aug. 24th, 2021 on 08-24-21.
A. Cioffi seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Leadership Report
A.
Leadership Report
A. Rodriguez made a motion to accept the resignation of Brennan Liming from her
position as 6th grade math teacher.
S. Darroch seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.
A. Rodriguez made a motion to approve the hiring of Kris Pillsbury for EC Teacher and
Fenessa Monroe for EC Teaching Partner.
S. Darroch seconded the motion.

A. Rodriguez made a motion to continue requiring mandatory, universal masking indoors at the Exploris Middle School campus and both indoors and outdoors at the Exploris Elementary campus.
L. Friedman seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

Finance
K. Morgan provided an update on the School's financials. Please refer to the packet for additional details.
C.
Board Business
K. Harris provided updates and more information on the Exploris Foundation, upcoming events, and the annual fund. J. Hwang encouraged all the Board members to support the Exploris Foundation.
S. Darroch made a motion to create a standing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility Committee that will be lead by C. Napier. .
D. Deaton seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.
D. Brown will send out a Doodle Poll to see when the best times would be for the next IES training days with the Kaizen Team and the Board to possibly join.

S. Darroch provided an update on the 2 new promising candidates with backgrounds in academics/education.

S. Darroch made a motion to to move into closed session.
A. Cioffi seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.
During closed session, the Board discussed the latest progress and current state of facilities-related items along with personnel issues and changes.
S. Darroch made a motion to exit closed session.

The board VOTED to approve the motion.
