Call the Meeting to Order
K. Byars-Nichols called a meeting of the Educational Excellence Committee of The Exploris School to order on Tuesday Feb 14, 2017 at 5:10 PM.

Approve Minutes
K. Byars-Nichols made a motion to approve minutes Education Excellence Committee Meeting on 10-19-16.
F. McKay seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
II. Education Excellence
A.
Develop a draft of metrics
The group first discussed the Vision Statement. Leah wondered if we should place relationships first, to emphasize its importance. Relationship-based learning is what makes Exploris unique.
Keely wondered if vision statement was not too detailed, but group felt that bullet points were necessary to flesh out definitions. Further, group felt vision statement fully encapsulated our vision for educational excellence, with minor adjustments to the relationship definition.
The group also briefly reviewed the document that listed means of assessment for each goal. We agreed that Summer, Amanda and Michelle would own the revision and finalization of these two documents, with the intention to present final drafts for committee approval at our March 13 meeting.
