B. Reyes-Lua called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Vida Charter School to order on Thursday Nov 14, 2024 at 4:03 PM.

Approve Minutes

B. Reyes-Lua made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Excellence Committee Meeting on 10-10-24.
V. Fonseca seconded the motion.

II. Academic Excellence

A.

Update on Annual Goals

Review of new artifacts for each goal. 

  • Interaction and feedback for writing between students and educators for growth.
  • Continue to develop Eureka goal and real-world connections. Support all grades to meet goal and document in pacing guide. 

Nov 21: Adults supporting Eureka Math at Vida. Family can access Eureka Math to support their learners at home.

Family Teacher Conference Feedback

Great feedback (77 responses) from families. Great success meeting almost all families. 

C.

23-24 Future PA Ready Index

Data has been released. Have seen growth in some areas when comparing data to last year. TSI Designation has been removed from Index. Have seen growth in gains for English Language Learners. 

III. Other Business

A.

Staff Satisfaction Survey

Staff survey to launch December 3 with due date of December 11 (early dismissal). 

B.

Avant Proficiency Testing

Avant Testing has been launched and initial assessment was administered to students. Testing covers 4 domains in Spanish and 4 domains in English. Avant provides resources to support educator's instruction. 

 

This assessment leads to receiving a Global Seal of Biliteracy. 

Providing resources to Vida community to prepare and safeguard students and families and educators with coming changes.
