Call the Meeting to Order

J. Lewis called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Vida Charter School to order on Thursday Jun 13, 2024 at 4:17 PM.

Approve Minutes

V. Fonseca made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Excellence Committee Meeting on 05-09-24.
J. Lewis seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Academic Excellence

A.

End of the Year Data Review

We looked at PSSA English results and other school-wide end-of-year data. 

  • There were signs of improved proficiency in many spaces. 
  • We also have room for improvement that we will focus on. 
  • We looked at work being done by the Instructional Coach and Math Specialist to help instructors scope and plan the pace of instruction through the year.
  • We looked at the newly developed multi-tiered counseling plans for this year. We hope to continue it for next year.
  • There was great progress on English Langauge Learners growth this year. 

B.

End of the Year Staff Satisfaction Survey

We reviewed the staff survey data and began to discuss its significance in relationship to staff retention and goals for next year. We will continue to dive into this in our next month's meeting.
