I. Opening Items

B. Call the Meeting to Order

S. Powell called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Vida Charter School to order on Thursday Oct 8, 2020 at 4:41 PM.

C. Approve Minutes

S. Fehringer made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Excellence Committee Meeting on 09-10-20.

S. Powell seconded the motion.

The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Academic Excellence

A. Review beginning-of-year data for literacy (English and Spanish) and math

ACADIENCE- diagnostic tool that shares literacy performance data. Students were evaluated at beginning of academic year, both remote and in-person learners. Shares strengths and areas of growth.

Evaluated in English and Spanish literacy.

NWEA-Math assessment tool for K-6, all students tested

Student data will be sent to families with their report cards

Data supports administration and staff to identify midyear and end of year academic goals

B. Staff Survey

Adding the following statements to staff survey:

23. So far this year, I feel comfortable with the current Health and Safety measures at Vida in regards to the use of PPE, cleaning and social distancing?

24. Please use this space to provide context to your answer as it relates to the Health and Safety measures implemented by Vida.

25. We understand the challenges of balancing distance learning and face-to-face instruction. What can we do to support you and what do you need?
