Call the Meeting to Order
S. Powell called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Vida Charter School to order on Thursday Dec 12, 2019 at 4:41 PM.

Approve Minutes
Y. Gagliardi made a motion to approve minutes from the Academic Excellence Meeting on 11-13-19 Academic Excellence Meeting on 11-13-19.
S. Powell seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Faculty and Staff Survey
ED will send staff list to Sally Powell. Powell will attend December faculty meeting on the 18th to conduct the survey.

S. Powell made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Y. Gagliardi seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 5:32 PM.

ED shared that classroom newsletters are being sent home monthly.
Instructional Goal
Mentor teachers are observing new teachers, but ED would like to see other teachers take advantage of this professional development opportunity. Gagliardi suggested videotaping the lesson to share.
Observations - teachers are prepped ahead of formal observations that occurs twice a year. Then they conference with ED after their observation.
Academic Goal
Biliteracy Curiculum group has been meeting regularly.
Math specialist is meeting with teachers.
Career Readiness goal - met with each grade level about the goal, each teacher was given a file to collect artifacts, grades have deadlines for collecting artifacts
