Call the Meeting to Order
S. Powell called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Vida Charter School to order on Thursday Sep 12, 2019 at 4:35 PM.

Approve Minutes
Y. Gagliardi made a motion to approve minutes from the Academic Excellence on 08-15-19 Academic Excellence on 08-15-19.
S. Powell seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

Academic Excellence 2019-2020 Goals
Goal 1: Review curriculum updates quarterly on the K-6 math audit, 3rd grade biliteracy curriculum, and the K-2 biliteracy curriculum framework.
Goal 2: Maintain a year-long student attendance goal of 95.5%
Goal 3: Provide an anonymous staff survey twice a year to track school climate, with a goal for 90% completion.

S. Powell made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Y. Gagliardi seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 5:30 PM.

Goal 1 Communication focuses on improving parent-teacher communication. Ms. Gagliardi commented about the value of a teacher's newsletter for busy parents.
Goal 2 Instructional - Ms. Miller has already created an academic/evaluation calendar to share with staff.
Goal 3 Academic - Ms. Miller stated that Goal 3.c is ambitious but important to the curriculum work focusing on math this year.
