L. Ramirez called a meeting to order on Wednesday Oct 8, 2025 at 5:06 PM.

Reading of Minutes / Lectura del Acta

Mr. Ramirez read minutes from September's English Learner Advisory Committee Meeting.

Ice Breaker / Rompehielos

Mr. Filidor led an Ice Breaker Activity where those present shared about their children, campus attendance and total time here at TEACH. Since all those in attendance also have joined our ESL course, it was an opportunity to practice in English as well.

Statistical Information on English Learner Population per School Site / Información estadística sobre la población de estudiantes de inglés por escuela

Mr. Filidor shared general information regarding English Learner totals at TEACH. He shared information specific to all TEACH campuses that we have a 25%+ of students who are identified as English Learners. General enrollment information was also shared. Mr. Ramirez emphasized the importance of such committees due to these large percentage of students being currently identified as English Learners.

Elections / Elecciones

Mr. Ramirez reintroduced the Agenda item specific to ELAC Committee Elections. Mr. Ramirez went into detail again specific to the importance of this committee, protocols and elected positions.

 

Ms. Zapata self-nominated for Secretary of ELAC. It was an unanimous vote by all present.

 

Ms. Lopez self-nominated as Parliamentarian of ELAC. It was an unanimous vote by all present.

 

Ms. Florentino was nominated as President of ELAC by Mr. Filidor. It was an unanimous vote by all present.

 

Ms. Ramirez was nominated as Vice-President of ELAC by Ms. Florentino. It was an unanimous vote by all present.

Mr. Filidor shared general upcoming holiday information, and ESL & Technology class schedule. Mr. Ramirez shared Wellness Workshop Series schedule as well.
