B. Call the Meeting to Order

M. Normandin called a meeting of the Development Committee of Lake George Charter School to order on Thursday Jun 24, 2021 at 3:06 PM.

II. Development

A. CDE Funds - Gloria Watson

Gloria said that the BEST Cash Grant (CDE) recommends we begin the application in July, and can start no later than Nov 30, deadline is January, and approvals are Feb - June 2022. It's designed for mainstream repairs/maintenance, and could be used for construction, but not expansion.

There are also a few others with CDE for which we may qualify. Need more time to look into them more. *need to be aware to balance effort vs payout, reporting requirements, etc. of any grants.
GOCO brought up; trouble with it in the past, but we need to learn why.

We need info from FACILITIES about the boiler -- is it scheduled? Been started?

B. Grants - Julie A Gilley

Julie provided great spreadsheet (via email) of grants from the Charter League website -- it's ever-evolving, so we can continue to look there.
Gloria suggested we each take a couple and look into them more.

C. Foundations - Michelle Normandin

Michelle provided a list of foundations that may have funds available. We can also take a couple of these OR the other list and see what we think. STEM was of particular interest to Dr. Wade. Penrose House in COS might be worth looking in to for a "retreat" training day for staff, as they offer their facilities free of charge for 501(c)3, and we qualify.

D. Septic, Newspaper Articles - Zoe Ann Holmes

Dr. Wade has contact with Marianne (Flume) and will continue to inform the public about our school. She'd love to see our school used more by the community, and this would continue to have newspaper presence for things we can invite other schools to, etc.
She will meet with Rick Favinger about septic issues and the "punch-list" for maintenance, as it affects our marketing and enrollment capacity.
