Update on Bond Financing
Norriese stated that we created a rubric for our underwriting process. She went over the tax exempt bond financing next steps. With this long term strategy we will be able to save approximately 1.5 million dollars per year.
III. Operations Report
A.
Enrollment Update
Toya presented the budgeted targets for the upcoming school year for each school. As it stands right now, we are 212 scholars above that targeted number. Our current attendance rate is 95.2% with a chronic absenteeism rate of 10.40%.
Our intent to return stretch enrollment target is 2,898.
B.
Malco Construction Closing Update
The Malco construction is complete. We have a cost savings of over 300,000 from our budgeted amount. Additionally, we have applied for a grant with TVA that will give us an additional 300,000 in additional funds.
IV. Academics Report
A.
Academic Progress Interim Assessment Summary & Next Steps
Bobbie Turner presented on Interim II results. Our goal is to hit our double AMO targets with every teacher. Science continues to show progress across the network. We are doing more targeted intervention with our K-8 math.
More targeted interventions with tier 2 scholars are needed in order to achieve these goals.
V. Human Resources
A.
Current Vacancies
Dr. Brian Ingram addressed our current vacancies. We have around 13 vacancies. Sped continues to be a challange to fill. We are working with Ed Fuel to look at our new teacher salary compensation. We are seeking stakeholder voices in this process. The survey will be launched by Ed Fuel.
B.
Intent to Return Process
Brian stated that we have a strong intent to return across the network. We have a 90% completion rate. We are working toward filling our teacher vacancies by June 1st. We are launching our survey for the upcoming summer program. Staff must be returning in order to qualify to work.
VI. CEO Update
A.
Jackson-Madison County Update
Yetta presented the expansion readiness project. She went through the greenlight indicators and the feasibility study .
We are 95% complete on two applications for the Jackson-Madison School District. Board recommendations are made in April with a full board vote by May.
We have had great strides in Community Engagement in Jackson, TN from September - December 2025 such as joining the Greater Jackson Chamber, hosting "A seat at the Table" dinner in Jackson to name a few.
Additionally, we have a possibility of an emerging partnership that will help with hiring, training and interventions at two schools in East Jackson.
B.
Snapshot of School's Progress
Yetta presented the Impact of our Sabbatical Policy. Our first Principal went on sabbatical and was very appreciative for the opportunity.
She gave a snapshot of our school performance for the 2024-2025 school year. We have more green (growth areas) this year than we did last year. We are making tremendous gains. We are consistently unpacking what is working well.
Norriese presented that we are trending in the right direction to close with 90 days of cash on hand. Our long term goal is to have 120 days of cash on hand. We are moving forward with the Budget process.
