There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 3:55 PM.

Dani provided an update on the Preliminary Budget Status Report. There are still expenses to be recorded; however, the district anticipates ending the year with a 10% ending fund balance.
A question was asked regarding why some months have larger fluctuations in revenue and expenses. Dani explained that the majority of the district’s property tax revenue is received during two months of the year. The district also receives more than 22% of its annual state apportionment during the months of July and August. Expenses are also not distributed evenly throughout the year. For example, the district’s annual insurance expense is paid in September.
The committee also reviewed enrollment trends. Dani reported that the district is currently 20 FTE students below the budgeted enrollment. The committee discussed that a portion of the difference is due to a lower-than-anticipated kindergarten class. The committee also discussed the prototypical school funding model, including how class sizes and base salaries can impact school district funding and expenditures.
