    • These presentations are limited to three (3) minutes and total time allotted to non-agenda items will not exceed fifteen (15) minutes. The Board may give direction to staff to respond to your concern or you may be offered the option of returning with a citizen-requested item. Complaints against specific school employees should be resolved through the school’s Personnel Complaint Procedure. A.

Hearing of the Public on Non-Agenda Items

A parent of a long-term enrolled student expressed concern about the potential impact of the employee residency policy on out-of-state staff, particularly the student’s speech teacher. The parent emphasized the strong relationship the student has developed with the teacher, the teacher’s positive impact on the student’s communication and confidence, and the importance of maintaining continuity of services.

B.

Hearing of the Public on Agenda Items

A staff member requested that the Board consider grandfathering their position under the out-of-state employee policy to allow continued remote employment after relocating to Nevada. The staff member highlighted their tenure, positive performance, commitment to students, and belief that continued employment would benefit the school community. Board Chair thanked everyone who submitted written public comments regarding Agenda Item 6D, the Employee Residency and Relocation Policy, by saying the following: By the 10:00 a.m. deadline today, the Board received 13 written comments expressing concerns related to staff stability, continuity of services, and the potential impact on students, families, and programs should experienced staff be required to leave their positions. The comments conveyed support for considering an exception for the current EL Coordinator and emphasized the importance of continuity and minimizing disruption during a period of significant transition for CWCS. These written comments will become part of the public record for this meeting and will be available through the Board’s normal public records request process, and the Board appreciates the time and thoughtful input provided by those who submitted comments.
