VII. New Committees
VIII. Discussion and creation of New Committees and Focus Groups

Proposing creation of two new groups, which were discussed during the Board Retreat:

  1. A committee that would be something like an Academic Committee
    1. Track the new Metrics that the Admin team is developing with their drop-ins with the classrooms
    2. Meet with Mike Mizzoni from Board on Track to create Dash Boards to help track and monitor the progress of the teachers and students throughout the year to help the Board in their responsibilities for Academic oversight of the school and the overall school culture.
    3. This committee would be responsible for meeting with the various Administrative leaders to check-in on their roles and concerns then bring those issues or comments and observations positive or negative to the larger Board for review and discussion.
    4. The Board should name this committee and decide on its goals then assign a committee chair
  2. The Focus Group needs to be created in order to begin work on the Strategic Action Plan
    1. This can be a focus group instead of a committee so that it can meet without the restrictions of quorum and have more flexibility.
    2. The focus group also invites more community involvement because in order to complete the Strategic Action Plan, gathering as much feedback from the community as possible is very important.
    3. Does anyone have a special interest in data collection or strategic vision work that would be interested in leading this effort or co-leading it with an Administrator?
