HS Regents Examination Scores

3-8 ELA/Math scores will not be released until sometime in the Fall.  Typically August is the time that scores are received but this information has been pushed back.

Cut scores have not bee received as of yet .

State is general behind due to the recent changes of scoring procedures.

No specific dates have been proved regarding the score availability date.

Principal Brown provided overview of State Regents Exam Performance History

ELA & Algebra are trending back to Pre-Covid scores.

Geometry has increased greatly

We have come out of the pandemic with a strong percentage.

Physics is the area of needed review and improvement.

School will consider rethinking Physics and the steps to move forward with the process of teaching, offering and the course enrollment process.

Environmental Science Studies, Human Body Systems may be other course options that will be available for scholars to take in lieu of Physics.

Overall teachers and students are struggling.  There is not a large flow of candidates that have a strong background in Physics.

There is no regents for Human Body System

There is a regents for Environmental Science

Overall Regents scores indicate a great level of growth.

Principal Brown has the full support of the Board and encouraged to work with the academic Committee to review and analyze the Physics options for the new school year.  Updates, recommendations and decisions will be shared with the Board regarding this matter.

This matters more for competitive colleges and is not a major concern in regards to Charter Renewal status.
