  1. For our January meeting we will be discussing the state's mandate to use Science of Reading curriculum and instructional materials starting this fall (link to state code, link to additional DEW explanation)
  2. Jameson and Brooke will start us off with a description of what is happening in classrooms now - some mix of Units of Study (the curriculum listed in our Educational Plan)
  3. Some questions to think about for our discussion are:
    1. How do we make SoR work in a multi-age classroom?
      1. do they know of other schools who have done this
      2. who could do this work? should we stipend a teacher committee to work over the summer?
    2.  What criteria/process should we use to select the new curriculum that will generate the most teacher buy-in and have the best chance for successful implementation?
    3.  Knowing that many of our teachers have less than 5 years of experience, and turnover may be high again this year given the difficult labor market, what should training look like?
    4. Other aspects of the IG experience will have to change with the reading curriculum, for example our benchmark assessments.  Is there anything else we should be thinking of?
    5. Are there any other barriers to implementation that we should be planning for now?
