Call the Meeting to Order
A. Anderson called a meeting of the Operations/Facilities Committee of KIPP Memphis Public Schools to order on Wednesday May 14, 2025 at 4:33 PM.

R. Crutcher made a motion to approve the minutes from Operations / Facilities Meeting on 04-09-25.
D. Yancey seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

2024-25 Student Enrollment Update

2024-25 Attendance Update
Chief Phillips gave and update and overview of the following:
Attendance Year over Year Summary:
- KMCE and KMCM: Attendance up by 0.6%.
- KMCH: Attendance down by 2.0%.
Chronic Absenteeism Year over Year Summary:
- KMCE and KMCM: Chronic Absenteeism down by 14.8% and 7.6%, respectively.
- KMCH: Chronic Absenteeism up by 9.7%

2025-26 Student Recruitment and Enrollment Update
Enrollment Summary (as of 5/08/2025): With a goal to have 1,250 students enrolled, our teams are working to secure a target of 1,564 student registrations.
- Total current student enrollment for 2025-26: 934 students, with 630 more needed to meet the target.
- KMCE needs 226 more enrollments; KMCM needs 187; KMCH needs 217.
- Top grades to goal: 4th (83%), 5th (75%), 7th (84%).
- Bottom grades to goal: Kindergarten (16%), 6th (27%), 2nd (54%). Ninth (9th) grade is no longer in the bottom 3 thanks to the work of the High School team.
Recruitment Strategies and Activities
Ongoing recruitment strategies and activities aimed at increasing student enrollment. These efforts are vital for achieving enrollment targets.
- Weekly recruitment team meetings and monthly focus strategies are in place.
- May recruitment focus includes teacher communications and transition activities.
- Student recruiter activities involve follow-up calls, community events, and school visits.
- The Memphis Lift is conducting door-to-door canvassing for KIPP Memphis from March to May.

Chief Phillips gave an update and overview of current student enrollment: As of May 2, 2025, we are at an overall enrollment of 999, 18 below budgeted enrollment. Families relocating and student behavior incidents are the leading drivers for student withdrawals.
