Call the Meeting to Order

T. Marsh called a meeting of the board of directors of Rainier Valley Leadership Academy to order on Tuesday Dec 14, 2021 at 4:09 PM.

II. Public Testimony

A.

Call for public testimony.

  • Sign up-Erica Carmichael, Jamie Costantino, Chineka Jones
  • More time to speak with Co-Chairs December 15th or January 3rd during work hours
    • Chineka Jones-Concerns for safety for several months.  After incident felt very unsafe. Before return to building need clear safety plan so everyone is safe. Concerns over finances-comparable salaries to other districts. Better communication
    • Erica Carmichael-Felt like she was security. Not her job. Rushed safety plan. Not ok to return for remainder of year. 
    • Jamie Costantino-Never had a Safety Plan since working here. Staff injuries-no follow-up. Biggest concern is communication to community.
