PUBLIC NOTICE: 

 

Pursuant to emergency proclamation 30-JCE 2020, the Rooted School New Orleans Board hereby certifies that it will conduct all meetings scheduled for 2025 - 2026, in person (unless otherwise designated), at 6701 Press Dr. in the College of Education Building & Human Development on SUNO's campus in the Social Hall (Room 106) on the 1st Floor.

 

Board meetings shall be held in this manner until further notice.

Ms. Cola will share some of her experiences being a student at Rooted School and at the New Orleans Career Center.

Ms. Karpinksi will present her Opening of School 2026 overview to the Rooted School Board of Directors and the Community.

  • Kaitlin Karpinski will provide the Board a brief update on Rooted School's current enrollment and progress toward charter renewal (to date).

  • There is a proposal to hold additional community stakeholder meetings (number to be decided) that will focus on the following key Board initiatives:
  1. Fundraising in the current non-profit environment (Executive Director, Parents, Community and 1 - 2 Board Members)
  2. Increasing parent and community engagement (Executive Director, Parents, Community and 1 - 2 Board Members)

The Rooted School Board of Directors will receive a document outlining all contracts and specifically those that may exceed the 10K administrative sign-off threshold.

 

All contracts will need to be posted on the school's website as soon as that review has occurred as mandated by Act 370.

  • Board will make a motion to take action on establishing a dollar amount threshold for return of monies to general fund (if needed).
