III. Review and Approve Minutes from Previous Meeting(s)

Prior Meeting Minutes

M. Lewis made a motion to approve the minutes from Board Meeting on 05-18-26.
L. Davis seconded the motion.

After a brief discussion, action was taken to approve the minutes for April 20, 2026, for the Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of Ridgeline Education Corporation.

The board VOTED to approve the motion.

IV. Reports

A.

School Leader

Ms. Willmann shared on her report including her expressed gratitude for her team, who stepped up to manage graduation during her absence due to a medical issue. She specifically recognized Ms. Diaz (Learning Center Coordinator) and Ms. Pina (Counselor) for their extra efforts. She also shared the recent EISD 1882 monitoring visit on May 20th was very successful.

 

Ms. Willmann shared the English Language Learner (ELL) department participated in an EISD conference, where one of the L4L students won a $500 scholarship. Staff also attended a Region 20 conference and met the former U.S. Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona.

 

Ms. Willmann shared 195 out of 201 expected students have confirmed their return. With 38 new interested students. The school is projected to start the next academic year with over 225 students, a significant increase from 165 students at the start of the last school year. She also shared the attendance rate for May which was 66%, a 10% increase from May of the previous year (56%). The overall average attendance for the year is in the low seventies.

 

Lastly, Ms. Willmann shared since opening, the school has graduated a total of 321 students.

B.

Finance

Mr. Reyes presented the financial statement as of May 31, 2026, including the balance sheet, income statement, cash projections, revenues & expenses. 

C.

Management Organization

Mr. VanKirk shared on Marketing and Business Outreach efforts. He mentioned a recent finance meeting focused on the marketing budget for the upcoming year. The team will continue to develop marketing plans and leverage the School’s approved national marketing budget once allocated.

He also shared on Representatives that were invited to graduation to foster a partnership aimed at providing wraparound services to families in the district.

After a brief discussion, the following action was taken to table the 2026-27 Course Catalog until the July meeting.

J. Calvin made a motion to approve Republic Indemnity for the 2026-27 Workers Compensation Policy.

VI. Open Discussion regarding future Board Agenda items

Open Discussion

Mr. Davis asked about the impact of the student retention position hired last year. Ms. Willmann confirmed the position has been highly effective and is a direct contributor to the improved ADA. 

 

Ms. Lewis congratulated the team on the recent graduation.

 

Ms. Humphrey thanked the board, Ms. Willmann, and the LLAC staff for a successful year. He asked Ms. Willmann to pass on the board's gratitude to the staff.
