Adjourn Meeting
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 6:43 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Lindsey O'Neill
Lindsey O'Neill made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Samantha Lytle seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
Board worked on 1 year goals and committed to the following:
1. Continue to find new ways to retain students in both elementary and high school.
2. Continue to reduce the deficit and improve the budgets across both districts.
The following ideas were offered to help meet these goals:
- Offer partnerships with secondary education institutions, including trade schools
- Start career engagement with JH students (let them try out what they believe they would like to have as a career at a younger age, to determine their path sooner)
- Ensure every student has authentic opportunities to explore possible futures and graduates are prepared to take the next step toward college, career, trades, service, and meaningful participation in their community
- Checking in with students more often
- Student led Parent Teacher Conferences
- Increase volunteerism in the districts (both classroom and extra-co curricular)
The Board also discussed five-year goals at length. They reviewed the Strategic Plan compiled in 2012 and attached to this agenda. They also reviewed Superintendent Baldwin's Five-Year Goals "Jumping Off Point" documents. They will meet again in January to discuss and refine these goals.
