Vice President Davis requested a motion on the agenda as presented.
Director Simpson moved to approve the agenda as presented. President Michal seconded.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion. Motion passed.

OATH OF OFFICE - STUDENT SCHOOL BOARD REPRESENTATIVES
Superintendent Dr. Deborah Rumbaugh gave the Oath of Office to the following new Student Representatives to the School Board:

Proclamation - Orange Shirt Day - A Residential Boarding School Awareness Day
Superintendent Dr. Deborah Rumbaugh invited Amy Sheldon, and the Marysville School District's Native American Students to read the Marysville School District's Proclamation recognizing the Boarding School National Awareness Day - (Orange Shirt) taking place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Amy Sheldon had the students to first introduce themselves and state the name of the school they attend. The following Native American students participated:

Ily Enick - Marysville Getchell High School - Tulalip Tribe
Tyson Gobin Tolentino - Marysville Getchell High School - Tulalip Tribe

V. BOARD DIRECTOR REPORTS ON BUSINESS CONDUCTED

Discussion
The School Board Vice President, Eliza Davis, was pleased to see all the students in their orange shirts today, representing on behalf of the Native American student population and coming forward to read the Proclamation. Vice President Davis also appreciated that the District is ensuring we honor Orange Shirt Day and raise awareness of this day of remembrance. She thanked the new Student Board Reps and congratulated them, and said she is looking forward to working with them.
