Call the Meeting to Order
S. Jacobs called a meeting of the board of directors of Vacaville Christian Schools to order on Tuesday Dec 17, 2019 at 6:02 PM.

Devotion
A. Grafals arrived.
D.
Open Session
Parent Sherry Farr shared some of her daughter's experiences. She has been at VCS for 4 years and shared concerns about student supervision, discipline, and teacher development.
After Ms. Farr left the open session, the board and head of school further discussed the issues and concerns that were shared for proactive solutions.
II. Old Business
A.
Approve Minutes
S. Jamel made a motion to approve the minutes from VCS Board of Directors Meeting on 11-18-19.
J. Smotherman seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
III. New Business
A.
Head of School Report
New Retention at 710 students; coming into enrollment and excited about continuous enrollment; marketing videos; painting gym this Christmas break; more crab feed sponsorships and one table for each board member; rode in a CHP helicopter and did a facetime live event!

Digital Release of a new vision of the school;
August 24th will be the first day of school for the next school year (2020-21)

B. Craig made a motion to Adopt the 2020-2021 Hybrid Homeschool Plan Proposal as presented.
S. Jamel seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
B.
Finance
Becky reviewed the notes from the Finance Committee Meeting held on December 13, 2019
B. Craig made a motion to Approve the 2020-2021 Tuition Proposal #3.
J. Biard seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
S. Jamel made a motion to Adopt the Legacy Program.
B. Craig seconded the motion.
Each student will receive a $100 credit in their financial account for each year of school grades PreK-8 completed at VCS and is retroactive to all existing families. Any break in enrollment will reset the accrual. The credits will accumulate up to $1,000 and become available for application to tuition balance December 1st of grade 9.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Academics Committee
Met on December 11th; discussed testing data K-12, curriculum reviews for K-5 and 6th - 12th, and current status of K-12 accreditation

Advancement/Marketing
Everything was covered in HOS report
E.
Athletics
Need more volunteers with Booster Club; we now have a formal trade agreement with Admirals which never existed before which includes our fiber networking system; there is a barter agreement that has legitimate value to benefit the VCS; discussed the direction of the basketball programs and facility scheduling and maintenance.

Executive Committee
Committee Chair Jacobs lead the Board in the discussion of the activities of the Academics Committee at its December 6th meeting along with additional topics such as the progress of campus improvements and its rescheduling due to bad weather.

J. Smotherman seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM.
