K. Johnson provided an update on the budget which was followed by further discussion on enrollment and budget numbers.
N. Thurman explained the need for Form 990 and recommended that the board consider it. S. WuDunn made a motion to approve the form. J. Kuo seconded it. The Board voted unanimously to approve the form.

School Update
J. Ciavirella gave a brief summary of the various activities and events happening at Amani, including the basketball game, pep rally and 10-year celebration.
D. Stern discussed school enrollment and applications, program plans such as speaker series, and the March 10 fundraising Gala, featuring the Amani cast of "Guys and Dolls Jr," broadway stars Veronica Stern and Nathan Lucrezio, and Sing for Hope.
B. Tanner updated the board on various repairs and improvements to the school building, including foam insulation around windows.
J. Ciarirella added there would be a school wide science fair on March 26.

Committee Updates
There was a brief discussion about school finances.

Expansion
S. WuDunn made a motion to move to executive session. G. Sardi seconded it. The board unanimously voted to approve and move to executive session.
Board chair M. Smith strongly encouraged and recommended that all board members attend monthly meetings in person as well as promote and attend large school events such as the fundraising gala.
He noted that efforts to recruit new board members was underway and that plans for the Board's mid-year retreat would begin soon.
