Nash and Libby introduced GF I as an investment option.
Maurice and Laurie from the town of Brooks joined the meeting to give their perspectives on how/why they chose to invest.
The rate of return seems comparable to a Bank CD (and what we currently earn).
The primary benefit would appear to be daily liquidity.
Drawback would be that it is NOT FDIC insured.
Discussion to be continued at next month's meeting.
B.
Update on Funding Opportunities/Requests
Steph provided an update on funding/outside grants.
We have applied for a grant from Clorox.
Donor has (verbally) committed $5K to drama program.
We are applying for Georgia Outdoor Learning Development (GOLD) grant.
LTCS is eligible for PEACH Education Tax Credit Program. Steph will work with Kristen Dutton (prospective Board Member) on creating mktg collateral and making sure we meet Jan/Feb deadline.
This funding update will become a standing Agenda item each month.

Although they are still working with the Auditors on some final entries, the June financials are done. For FY'26, there was Net Revenues of $134,994.
Large variances in actual vs budget are attributable to reclassification of items to conform with State Chart of Accounts.
Deadline to submit financials to DOE is September 18, 2026.
July financials are ready but not in the format we are accustomed. Net revenue for the month came in at $26,257.
This is a big transition period for the school - moving from Quickbooks to PC Genesis. "Normal" reporting should resume by October.
