We want to build in one virtual teacher preparation day per quarter to allow teachers time to catch up with grading and quarterly prep. Teachers are asked to do so much with very little time, so this will be very helpful.
Several districts throughout the state are moving in this direction. Some are holding them monthly.
Students would be tasked with a virtual assignment related to Math, Science, and/or ELA.

Proposed dates:
January 7
March 11
May 13
  C. Survey Reviews

After reviewing the results and comments of the surveys, here are some responses to concerns:

  • Many of the concerns addressed in the survey have been brought to Administration by staff members, and we have worked toward solutions.
  • Some follow-through actions can not be shared with employees or parents due to privacy laws. This tends to lead to the assumption that nothing was done. We will be more proactive with sharing actions when possible.
  • Administration is working to be transparent with the “whys” of our decisions. Sometimes disagreement is viewed as lack of listening.
  • We are planning parent training for Canvas in English and Spanish.
  • We are working on supporting acquiring hot spots for families to improve internet access.
