Call the Meeting to Order

N. Taylor called a meeting of the board of directors of Invictus Nashville Charter School to order on Thursday Feb 13, 2025 at 6:46 PM.

Approve Minutes

D. Wade made a motion to approve the minutes from INCS - BOARD MEETING on 01-09-25.
J. Little seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Committee Reports

A.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Finance Committee

-Account balance is $207, 951.88

-100K line of credit 


 

Development Committee

-Will be meeting Tuesday's moving forward

-January salon dinner was cancelled

-The committee is currently searching for additional members with development experience


 

CEO Support and Evaluation Committee

-Results of the CEO evaluation were sent to the Board for review

-Additional time is needed to support with the CEO with development 


 

Governance Committee

The committee has not met. 


 

III. CEO REPORT

A.

STATUS

CEO Report

Facilities:

-A lease has been signed! 2526 Lebanon Pike via a partnership with Donelson First

-Expected to be able to occupy the space before the start of school

-Lease rate is 21k per month with separate utilities fees

-Current lease is for 1 year with the option to build on to the space

-The board discussed a marketing plan to think through how to announce the new space and documenting the journey of the school opening


 

Enrollment

-185 applications for k-2; the application closes 2/14 at midnight

-Pre-k is likely to open in the Spring, there is great interest for that grade level 

-The board discussed partnership opportunities with head start and daycares and marketing to boost applications


 

Recruitment

-Final round interviews will begin soon; candidates in this round will be doing hands on interviews at Head Starts working at Black History Month stations with a Montessori focus


 

Grants

-The CEO provided updates on grants or possible grants with Tennesse Score, Caulder Foundation, Black Wildflower Fund for Montessori Educators, Charter School Growth Fund, New School Venture Fund


 

Commission Updates

-An Invictus Board member must be present for every commission meeting; the next meeting is March 3rd from 1-2PM CST
