B. | Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) Policy | Vote | Ned Southworth | 10 m | |
The Delaware State Police recently contacted us about the need to establish and maintain a CHRI Policy. From their initial communication - "Your agency receives Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) in response to fingerprint-based background checks. Since you are receiving CHRI for non-criminal justice-related functions (i.e. Licensing and Employment) your agency is considered a Non-Criminal Justice Agency (NCJA). The State Bureau of Identification (SBI) is responsible for ensuring any NCJA with access to CHRI is compliant with the FBI Compact Council and FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division policies and procedures. This assessment by the SBI of your organization must be performed minimally once every three years." The attached policy was created after reviewing the sample policy provided by the SBI. |
