Cynthia shared that a major focus is to incorporate more everyday data, not just major assessments like SBAC.

• What are interventions for students who are behind? Do they get extra time?  
  • The focus is on targeted interventions based on data, with extra support staff to help with small groups. 
• What is being done to support students in middle school, who seem to be struggling more? 
  • Added more supports (TAs, onboarded last month) in middle school, focused especially on social & emotional support in the classroom. 
  • The major challenges for middle school are: social-emotional needs, many students who are new to MPS, and students who fell behind on math (because it's hard to learn math remotely)
