Director & Student Government Update
Increase in chronic absenteeism this year (85% of school funding comes from Average Daily Attendance) from previous years. MP will begin texting families, launching an attendance campaign, and piloting Saturday school for absence students in response to the increase in absenteeism. Recent power outages have impacted the boiler, which in turn has negatively impacted school conditions. This feeds into the building renewal process that is coming up next year.
- Student presenter: part of CEI literacy grant project
- Student presenter: Kindness club
- Student government student survey- will address student concerns around bullying and interpersonal conflict
Restorative Justice Coordinator reported out on Bright Line, which offers behavioral coaching for individual families. Students with three or more referrals in school will be encouraged to get support. Piloting Me and Mine Stanford app focusing on behavioral health. Now have three counselors through Edgewood and additional professional development for Teaching Assistants.
Improvements and updates with personnel plan since June 2025. Enrollment and attendance are holding steady for this school year and MP is looking toward local grants in the near future. Slight decrease in special education expenditure but an increase in professional development expenses, so fiscally, MP is close to breaking even.
