Call the Meeting to Order
J. Korn called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Alma del Mar to order on Monday Dec 18, 2023 at 9:02 AM.

Approve Minutes from November 2023 Committee Meeting
J. Korn made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Excellence Committee Meeting on 11-27-23.
L. Hicks seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

Finalize Goals for AY23-24
Committee reviewed goals and discussed next steps to ensure goals remain a focus this year.
1. Partner with the school leadership team to address challenges associated with identified performance gaps.
2. Collaborate with the Finance committee and the Development committee on program funding and new program fundraising, respectively.
3. Assist School leadership team and the Board on implementing the School’s Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI) plan.

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 9:41 AM.

A. Teevens provided updates on Winter Celebration of Learning, and Board discussed ways to support increasing family attendance in the spring.
A. Teevens provided updates on upcoming standardized testing, included the Civics MCAS pilot and NAEP test for Ottiwell 4th graders. Committee also discussed the 8th grade Civics Project, which will kick off in February.
Committee will receive an update on Secondary Schools Applications in January, and then review Quarter 2 Academic Data in February.
