C. Hicks asked about the school's approach to the Science of Reading. A. Teevens shared that the school uses the Fundations Phonics program daily in grades K-2, and accompanying Wilson intervention programs with students who require additional services in grades 3-8.
Committee discussed potential committee activities for the year, including classroom walkthroughs, more thorough MCAS data review/comparisons, and review of academic budget lines.
Committee also discussed potential goals for AY23-24. The committee will return to this topic in November to finalize goals for this year.
M. Carvalho joined the committee to provide an overview of our Special Education, 504, and MLL populations, and approach to service delivery.
