Call the Meeting to Order

J. Washington called a meeting of the Governance Committee Committee of Athlos Jefferson Parish to order on Wednesday Feb 19, 2025 at 5:37 PM.

II. Governance Committee

A.

Policy for seat time make up.

Ms. Bracok shared the new draft policy for makeup seat time with the committee.  Highlights of the key changes are:

  • Change to using an online platform for makeup time.  This will allow more accessibility for students and provides audio for students that may be struggling to read.
  • Added components on academic integrity.
  • Feb. 28th is the new cutoff for makeup time.

 

Committee members asked for clarification on: 

  1. What counts as an absence vs a tardy for a partial day absence?
  2. Do you anticipate any push back from parents?
  3. Can you get a quote for next year for the purchase of the IXL online system rather than using the free trial long term?
  4. Clarify what happens if the student misses hours or doesn't complete the # of hours?
