As many schools get in trouble over mishandling of money, can the board or finance committee be shown how this is covered currently:
What are our existing procedures/policies for financial management and oversight at the school level? How is the school staff being trained to manage the funds? What oversight is there over the money? How are we assured of the oversight of responsible collection and spending of money collected? What is the existing oversight/processes over: Bank accounts, Deposits, Receiving money, Purchasing
Next steps: CFO to pull together all existing docs. CFO to review with the Finance Committee and draft proposed policy on financial oversight for Governance Committee to review. |
