II. Record and Notes of last AC Meeting on October 11,2023
 

1. School start up: completed: staffing, assessment schedules, restructure of administrative assignments to better support staff, class and teacher programming/schedules, structure of school into interdisciplinary teams, move to building A.   Ongoing:  school system enhancements, (i.e. tiered interventions, professional development for teachers), literacy lab, YMCA counseling.

2.  Benchmark 1 submitted to NYS Charter Office.  Site visit November 16 and 17th (includes BOT interview).  CAP plan being developed in compliance with NYS mandates.

3.  NYS standardized scores are unembargoed.  Charts, including BP students currently as well as last/this year, comparison to D31 and NYC, will be presented at the next BOT meeting.

4.  Mr. Cupo, the newly hired math coach, was introduced and welcomed by the committee as he joins the BP family.

5.  ABA training for teachers including parent workshop and on-site coaching has been incorporated into school staff support structures

6.  Academic Dashboard will contain more demographic content. Will be presented in November at the BOT meeting.

7.  Hash Tag and Bullseye teacher observation programs were introduced to committee.  These programs help to categorize teachers according to level of support required, and tracks intervention.

  A. November, 2023 A/C Agenda Discuss Volpe/Otterbeck/Castanza 45 m
   

1.  Data dashboard content will  include: OG BOY foundational skills, student demographics, special ed snapshot, MAP BOY ELA and math data, NYS ELA and math data. Discuss: teachers using small group instructions using data to move students, with emphasis on those approaching proficiency, teacher/student goal-setting with students, etc., OG data uses.

2. Teacher observation/support progress.

3. Election Day PD:  Math and Movement-  1/2 day, Common planning with actionable items and deliverables- 1/2 day

4.  Tuesday and Thursday professional development sessions.  Discuss: specific anticipated outcomes in instruction. 

5.  Prep toward NYS Charter School on-site visit this week.
