Meeting Format
Whether in person or online, the public is welcome to attend Committee Meetings and have access to meeting minutes. Meetings are held once a quarter and additionally, as determined by the Committee Chair. All meeting Agendas are posted to the school website at least 48 hours in advance of each public meeting.

During the meeting, the Committee follows the published agenda and works through business. Audience members are not part of the formal discussion or deliberations, but may raise their hand to add brief comment or ask clarifying questions. Meetings start promptly on time as noted on the agenda.

Susanna Girard called a meeting of the Appeals Committee of Foxborough Regional Charter School to order on Tuesday Jun 7, 2022 at 8:05 AM.

The committee read through the materials provided by the family.  The following was noted:

  • The family did not make an appointment to register their child.
  • They mentioned a medical issue but did not give any timing that was relevant to the appeal.
  • The family registered for the lottery in July.
Anissia Vixamar made a motion to deny the appeal.
Susanna Girard seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

III. Scope of Committee

A.

2nd Reading: Scope of the Appeals Committee

Change

  • The Appeals committee meeting times from every month to 3 times per school year.

Add

  • More definition of the role of the committee
  • Materials must be submitted to the board of trustees 1 week prior to their meeting for inclusion in the meeting

Clarify

  • The Committee Chair & V-Chair are either a Board of Trustees or members of the SLT.
  • The Committee Clerk can be any adult member of the committee
