Ted Gildea, Committee Chair, directed the attention of the Committee to the General Finance Updates. Cynthia Marie, CEO of Central Source, displayed the School's Budget vs Actuals as of November 30, 2023 and confirmed that CoaH is currently on track to remain in budget. Marie affirmed that these statements have not significantly changed since the Committee last reviewed them.
Sonya Pratt, Executive Director, discussed the initiatives the School is working on including facility maintenance and technology upgrades. Pratt noted the School is due to receive roof and brick work. She also noted the School's need for new technology in classrooms as well as chromebooks for students. Marie confirmed this would be a good time financially for the school to take on both projects. The Committee acknowledged the importance of the projects and pushed to move forward. Pratt also noted the union negotiations will begin around February 2024, and will continue throughout the spring. Pratt confirmed the budget for union negotiations will be set and reviewed in January, and the Board will be updated with further detail in Executive Session.
The Committee asked Pratt to confirm the number of students currently enrolled. Pratt noted the School currently has 198 students enrolled and are still actively enrolling, which continues to support the School's budget without adjustments.
