Laura Eduoard, Principal, opened the discussion by sharing that Progress Reports for Quarter 1 were sent to students and families in the last week. With the release of Progress Reports, City on a Hill hosted grade-level meetings with parents the week of October 19, and grade-level meetings with students the week of October 26.

Eduoard also shared that changes to the current School Year 2020-21 remote learning schedule are under review. City on a Hill is considering adding additional time to remote classes, adding Town Hall back to the remote learning schedule, as well as moving the deadline for Quarter 1 back by one week.

The discussion concluded by Eduoard sharing measures City on a Hill is taking to continue to improve student engagement virtually.

Griffin opened discussion by asking Committee members to share their background in education and the expertise they bring to the Academic Excellence Committee. Griffin also asked members to share their availability for meeting this school year.

After sharing scheduling preferences, a tentative date for the December 2020 Academic Excellence Committee Meeting was chosen.

Griffin proposed that the Committee review City on a Hill's Academic Action Plan before the December 2020 Committee Meeting and come prepared to share thoughts around the Academic Excellence Committee's School Year 2020-21 goals.
