Call the Meeting to Order
Karin Wall called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of City on a Hill Charter Public School to order on Thursday Jun 13, 2019 at 5:00 PM.

Approve April 2019 Committee Meeting Minutes
Karin Wall made a motion to approve minutes from the April 2019 Academic Excellence Committee Meeting on 04-23-19 April 2019 Academic Excellence Committee Meeting on 04-23-19.
Jeff Jablow seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
II. Schools Update
A.
Achievement Update
Amber Donell, Chief Academic Officer, provided an academic program update on our schools and priorities for school year 2019-2020, focusing on the districts' short-term and long-term goals. Karin Wall, Chair, led a discussion incorporated City on a Hill's goals to improve classroom management, student engagement, data driven instruction, and checking for understanding.

Reflection and Calibration of Purpose
Amber Donell, Chief Academic Officer, and Karin Wall, Chair, led a reflection activity around purpose, goals and hopes for a strong start next year with a focus on peer observations as well as self analyses from the staff.
IV. Student Discipline Discussion
A.
Student Discipline Discussion
Amber Donell, Chief Academic Officer, and Karin Wall, Chair, led a discussion about student behavior management, focusing on the possibility of putting together a panel during OneCOAH Day to discuss how we are rethinking discipline in terms of the intersections of race, academics, discipline and social emotional learning.
