Call the Meeting to Order
N. Long called a meeting of the board of directors of Liberation Academy to order on Tuesday Sep 12, 2023 at 6:01 PM.

Approve Minutes
R. Oglesby made a motion to approve the minutes from Board Meeting on 08-08-23.
N. Long seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Enrollment Update
Current enrollment: 81
- 5 new students
- 3 withdrawals (2 due to location)
- Some parents have said they will return if and when we provide transportation

Academic and School Culture Reports
School culture
- August top infractions
- Fights/physical infractions: 6
- Insubordination/defiance: 4
- Altercations over the last 18 days: 0
- Interventions
- Restorative Circles to avoid repeat offenses
- Eliminated certain activities (i.e. football at recess)
- Incorporated lessons into pride time about conflict resolution
- Provide public praise to scholars for doing the right things
Academics
- MAP testing shows approximately 9% of all of our students are proficient or above in math
- 12% of 5th graders
- 8% of 6th graders
- MAP testing shows approximately 22% of all of our students are proficient or above in reading
- 46% of 5th graders
- 25% for 6th graders
IV. Facility
A.
Facility Update
- The current capacity is about 140.
- Exploring the possibility of a second campus in the future, maybe upper and lower campuses, to accommodate growth
- We have a school sign now.
- Cameras are in operation and we've updated door security.
- Atlanta Unbound wants to use some of the space.
- We provided access to three rooms for seven days.
V. Finance Committee

Budget Review-August
August financials aren't ready yet. They will be ready and shared with the board later this month.
July 2023 Financial update
- Cash is projected to be critically low beginning in May
- We could get additional funds from two of our largest funders
- Not unusual to not have the federal dollars in yet
