Governance Training Reminders

Register and access the asynchronous governance training sessions

To receive credit for completing sessions, New board members must watch the two required sessions in their entirety and complete the Session Feedback Quiz & Training Certification for each by June 30, 2026. There will be no exceptions and no extensions to this deadline. Sessions are available through EventMobi, the same platform we use for in-person Governance Training.

Required Sessions:

·    Using the Indicators of Distress Tool — Turning Insight into Early Intervention
Learn to use the Indicators of Distress Tool to identify early signs of school struggle and support timely interventions. This session provides guided examples of how the tool works, what the results mean, and how boards can make course corrections before challenges affect student success.

·    Academic Accountability Overview
Gain an understanding of how charter schools are academically evaluated within the Comprehensive Performance Framework (CPF). This session covers the academic evaluation framework, metrics, and data sources that determine a school's academic designation.

Optional Session:

·    Transparency and Ethics for State Charter Schools
Learn key transparency and ethics requirements to help governing boards understand legal obligations and build stakeholder trust. Topics include compliance with Georgia's Open Meetings Act and Open Records Act, annual budget hearing requirements, and website transparency obligations.

V. Closing Items 6:30 PM
